Two of Hungary’s universities have ranked among the best 200 listed on the University Impact Rankings, which was put together by the Times Higher Education (THE).
As qubit.hu reports, Semmelweis University and the University of Szeged have both made it to the list.
Over 450 universities were taken into consideration, originating from a total of 76 countries.
This is the first list assessing universities according to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, with indicators used to provide comparisons across three sectors: research, outreach, and stewardship.
THE said that the University of Szeged is renowned for industry collaboration and innovation, as well as for being home to one of Europe’s most advanced laser research centres.
Meanwhile, Semmelweis ranks high on the list due to its highly-praised medical degrees and the success rate of its alumni.
The University of Auckland in New Zealand topped the rankings, while Canada’s McMaster University followed. The University of British Columbia and the United Kingdom’s University of Manchester both ranked in third spot.
